COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
College Board/National Hispanic Scholar Recognition
Annual awards for outstanding Hispanic high school students who are U.S. citizens. Students must take the PSAT/NMSQT test in the fall of their high school junior year during which they must affirm their Hispanic heritage - this is the initial screening and the first opportunity for students to qualify for the program. Students who score well are then asked to complete an application form. Award is based on recommendations, SAT scores, extracurricular activities, community service, high school academic transcripts and records, and personal attributes. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program
Administered by the United Negro College Fund, provides scholarships and fellowships for outstanding low-income African-American, Native American, Hispanic American, and Asian American students to attend the undergraduate and graduate institutions of their choice.
Hispanic College Fund Scholarships Major site for Hispanic students majoring in business-related areas, A to Z (accounting, human resources, communications, and more). The award amount varies. Over 140 awards granted. Deadline: April.

Scholarship program has awarded $1.3 million in scholarships to Hispanic high school graduates entering college. For more information, contact your high school guidance counselor or your local McDonald's manager.
Mexican-American Engineering Society
Members of the Mexican American Engineering Society (MAES), who are American citizens and have been accepted at or are participating in an undergraduate level engineering program, can apply for annually awarded stipends of $300 to $500. Criteria for selection include: commitment to principles of MAES, willingness to perform service to the Mexican American community, academic record and financial need.

Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists
Provides financial assistance to Mexican American students interested in pursuing engineering as a career. Applicants must be members of the Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists, American citizens, and accepted or participating in an engineering program at the undergraduate level. Selection is based on financial need, academic record, and willingness to perform service for the Mexican American community. Amount: $300-$500 each. 20 awards.

Transportation Clubs International
Annual award for an undergraduate student (freshmen ineligible) of Mexican nationality, who is enrolled in an accredited U.S. or Mexican post-secondary institution in a vocational or degree program in the fields of Transportation, Logistics, Traffic Management or Related Fields (Marketing, Economics, etc.). Awards are based upon scholastic ability and potential, and professional interest and character. Financial need will also be given consideration. In addition to application student must submit official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, a black and white photograph, and an essay explaining why the transportation field was chosen as a career path.

United Negro College Fund/Citibank Fellows Program
Annual awards for minority, second semester freshmen attending one of the 39 United Negro College Fund (UNCF) member colleges. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Award is based on students GPA (minimum 3.0), financial need, and nomination from faculty or administrators at the colleges. Recipients are appointed a Citicorp professional who serves as a mentor. Award amount is applied to the recipients tuition and educational expenses up to $6,400. Award is renewable up to 3 years if continuing criteria is met.
