A Better Chance Alum Wins Minority Business Enterprise Award
McMillon Communications, Inc. of Fort Washington, Maryland, is proud to announce that the company's President and CEO, Doris McMillon, has been selected to receive the prestigious Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award.
The University of Maryland University College, the Governor's Office of Minority Affairs (GOMA) and The Maryland Chamber of Commerce recently notified McMillon of her selection. This program is designed to salute the region's best minority and women business owners and to highlight their achievements. "As the entrepreneurial campus in the University System of Maryland, we are honored to support the working men and women who are building businesses and future opportunities", says Susan C. Aldridge, President of the University of Maryland University College.
For more than three decades McMillon, a former WJLA news anchor, has provided quality communications support to an impressive roster of national clients. As a media consultant, trainer and executive coach, she has drawn on her own experience as a veteran journalist and newscaster to train others to speak clearly and with authority.
Recently, her company has expanded to include a full range of marketing communications services including strategic issue analysis, image management, media relations, brand development, and multi-media production. To these new offerings, McMillon brings the integrity, sense of urgency, bold creativity, and attention to detail for which she is already well known.
McMillon will be honored at an awards ceremony at the Inland Conference Center, at University of Maryland University College, in Adelphi, Maryland, on Thursday, November 8th beginning at 5:30 p.m.
