A BETTER CHANCE LAUNCHES RESTRUCTURED DIGITAL PRESENCE
TO SHOWCASE LEGACY & ADVANCE FUTURE LEADERS OF COLOR
NEW YORK, NY (May 7, 2019) – A Better Chance, a national nonprofit organization that recruits academically talented and motivated students of color and guides them toward a variety of educational and leadership opportunities announced the launch of its brand-new innovative website with enhanced content.
Underwritten by a grant from the Boeing Corporation and redesigned by Turbine and Finalsite, the website tells the story of A Better Chance’s historic beginnings during the early years of school desegregation and the civil rights era. Included are narratives about A Better Chance Alumni such as Deval Patrick the former Governor of Massachusetts and Dr. Roxane Gay an American writer, professor and author, and other past and present-day inspiring underserved youth of color whose lives have been transformed by gaining access to challenging high-quality educational opportunities.
“Boeing’s funding for this project enables our passionately dedicated team to focus their efforts on identifying capable underrepresented youth and open doors for them to take advantage of challenging high-quality educational opportunities at some of the best independent and college preparatory schools which ultimately will result in assisting to diversify the face of leadership in our nation,” said A Better Chance President Sandra E. Timmons.
The restructured website will generate a more comprehensive alumni network, reconnecting alumni with each other and the organization by spawning an online community. A new feature enables supporters to directly donate online.
Website highlights include:
- A Better Chance Alumni and Scholar profiles
- At-A-Glance about the impact and scope of A Better Chance
