Awards Luncheon

A Better Chance recognizes its top high school senior Scholars and honors leaders in the community who are committed to promoting education and diversity. Every spring in New York City, over 400 of our closest supporters, Alumni, and Scholars gather together to salute our honored guests.

This year's 2019 A Better Chance Awards Luncheon takes place on June 21 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, where we will be honoring James Loree, President and CEO of Stanley Black and Decker.

Rising Stars

Our National Advisory Council hosts several receptions throughout the country to celebrate the accomplishments of rising professionals of color who demonstrate excellence in their field and are dedicated to empowering the next generation of young leaders. This year Rising Stars receptions will take place both in New York City (in or around September, TBA) and Atlanta (in or around September, exact date TBA).

Meet the Small but Mighty Team

Our Program Team Members from around the country come off the road a week in October to gather in our New York Headquarters. The most important reason for their convening is to review the pool of applicants and discuss potential placement opportunities nationwide. This passionate team of 16 works all year long to successfully place around 500 Scholars in our nation’s top preparatory schools. We invite you to come meet the skilled professionals who make that possible and learn more about A Better Chances goals for the upcoming years.

Build a Dream

In December, we end each year with a celebration of cocktails and holiday merriment where we honor our DreamBuilders, The 1963 Society members, and The Ron and Mary Pressman Continuous Giving Society donors.
